2FA in Joomla - Step 1: Enable the plugin

Looks to me as an obvious job for every Joomla Administrator

  1. Log in to the administrator part of your site
  2. Go to the Extensions menu > Plugin Manager
  3. Filter for "Two Factor Authentication"
  4. If it's not already done, enable the "Two Factor Authentication - Google Authentication" plugin

     2FA - 1 - Activate Plugins

  5. Don't forget to choose if you want to have the 2FA on Front End, Back end or both. This setting applies to all users and is the same for all of them sitewide.

    2FA - 2a - Enable FrontEnd and BackEnd Yubikey   2FA - 2b - Enable FrontEnd and BackEnd Google Authenticator

How to control cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
